Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 28, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Signal Morph ("the Extension") handles information when you use our Chrome browser extension. The Extension overrides the default Chrome new tab page to provide a customizable, productivity-focused experience.

We are committed to transparency and user privacy. This policy is designed to comply with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

2. No Personal Data Collection

The Extension does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data. We do not require account registration, login credentials, email addresses, or any form of personal identification to use the Extension. You remain entirely anonymous while using Signal Morph.

3. Local Storage Usage

The Extension uses the chrome.storage API to save your preferences and customization settings. This data is stored locally on your device within the browser's internal storage mechanism. It is never transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or third party.

Examples of locally stored preferences include layout configurations, widget preferences, and visual theme selections. All such data remains under your full control and can be cleared at any time by resetting or uninstalling the Extension.

4. Sponsored Content and Third-Party Advertising

The Extension may display clearly labeled sponsored content or banner advertisements within the new tab interface. All sponsored content is visually distinguished and marked as such to maintain transparency.

In the course of delivering advertisements, the Extension may integrate third-party advertising services. These third-party providers may independently collect certain technical data, including but not limited to:

  • IP address
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser type and version
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies
  • General geographic location (derived from IP address)

Such data collection is governed by the respective privacy policies of those third-party advertising providers and is outside the direct control of Signal Morph. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services encountered through the Extension.

5. Data Sharing

Signal Morph does not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise share any user data with third parties. Since no personal data is collected by the Extension, there is no user data to share. The only data interaction occurs through optional third-party advertising integrations as described in Section 4.

6. Data Security

Because the Extension operates entirely within your browser and stores data locally using Chrome's built-in storage APIs, your information benefits from the security measures implemented by the Chrome browser itself. No data is transmitted over the internet by the Extension, eliminating the risk of data interception during transmission.

7. User Control and Uninstall Rights

You have full control over the Extension and your data at all times. You may:

  • Modify or reset your preferences within the Extension's settings
  • Clear locally stored data through your browser's extension management interface
  • Uninstall the Extension at any time, which will permanently remove all associated locally stored data

No residual data is retained after uninstallation, as all data resides exclusively within the Extension's local storage allocation.

8. GDPR Compliance

For users within the European Economic Area (EEA), the Extension complies with the General Data Protection Regulation. Since no personal data is collected or processed by the Extension, the obligations relating to data processing, consent, and data subject rights under the GDPR are inherently satisfied. Should third-party advertising services process data subject to GDPR, those services are independently responsible for their own compliance.

9. CCPA Compliance

For California residents, the Extension complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act. The Extension does not collect personal information as defined under the CCPA. There is no sale of personal information. California residents retain all rights afforded under the CCPA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out, though these rights are inherently addressed by the Extension's zero-collection architecture.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Extension after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.
